Behind the dash
There’s a great deal of kit hidden behind the dash. And reassembly starts with putting all the inaccessible stuff back in a logical order.
Starting with the most mundane: the windscreen wiper mechanism
The wiring loom runs along the left of the car, but heads to the right, behind the dash, for all the dashboard and steering column wiring.
I also added sound deadening material. I was relatively indifferent to this, but people seem to, it supposedly is a heat insulator also, and at the end of the day it was inexpensive and easy to fit.

Next up was the overhauled heater. Spot the inlet and outlet pipes: who knew, that the bottom pipe connects to the top inlet from engine compartment, and vice versa? Well I do now..
